Everybody wants to live the life of John Dutton on the Yellowstone Ranch. Long before Taylor Sheridan began filling our Sunday evenings with Yellowstone, there was a real homesteader who raised cattle a stone’s throw from Yellowstone National Park. That man, John Moulton, and his Brother Thomas Alma Moulton each settled on 80 acres in the Jackson Hole Valley. The brother’s barns are both part of the Mormon Row Historic District in what is now Grand Teton National Park.
The John Moulton Barn and the nearby TA Moulton Barn are two of the most photographed barns in the world. But, this image is different than the others you will see. After a night of heavy rain, a large puddle formed in front of the barn. As the sun began to rise over the mountains in the east and fill the Jackson Hole Valley with light, the barn of the old homestead reflected in the puddle to create a unique image of this famous landmark.
