The sunlight on the hats in this outside market in Puerto Rico and the various color and shapes were intriguing. I tried to portray that feeling and imagine people wearing them. The heat of the day is shown in the warm background and reflections.

Artist Info
Viewing the environment through an artist’s eye can be exciting. Color, shadows, patterns, movement of changing landscapes, animals, and people in many settings are exciting and draws me to want to paint them in watercolor or oils. Even in a still life the play of color and light can be exciting. A resident of Doylestown, PA, I’ve had the chance to share ideas and instruction from many gifted artists. Traveling to many places in the United States has provided inspiration for various subject matter. Locally intemperate weather, we meet and paint Plein Air. Hope you enjoy viewing my views of our world.
Donna Marcks Line, an award-winning watercolorist, has a degree in Elementary Education from Moravian College. She is also certified in Art Education. Her interest in art began long before her first award in watercolor while still attending Moravian. She has attended various watercolor workshops in the United States.
Locally she has studied under Deborah Camero Russell, Scott Wright, Kass Morin Freeman, James Heimsworth, and Ty Hodanish, Lauren Travis, Roger Dale Brown, PatDeVirgilis and George Thompson in both watercolor and oils. She has been a member of Doylestown Art League and the Pennsylvania Watercolor Society.
Most of her work is influenced by her interest in wildlife, landscapes, people and their relationship to the environment.
